Controlled Lab Testing

A controlled laboratory exists to remove every variable except the one being measured. Screened enclosures keep the outside world out, stable interconnect keeps the setup from drifting, and documented procedure keeps one operator’s result comparable with another’s six months later.

Removing the Variables

Five sources of laboratory variation and what controls them.

01
Ambient RF
A screened enclosure is only as good as its weakest penetration. Every cable entering it is a potential leak path, and the connector is part of the shield.
02
Setup Drift
Instruments warm up, cables settle, connections relax. Time-to-stability is a real parameter and it should be characterised, not guessed.
03
Operator Variation
Torque, cleanliness and cable dressing all vary between people. Procedure and torque wrenches remove more uncertainty than most equipment upgrades.
04
Cable Positioning
If moving a cable changes the result, the result depends on where the cable was. Phase-stable assemblies and fixed routing remove that dependency.
05
Calibration Interval
Everything drifts eventually. Knowing the interval, and holding to it, is what makes historical results comparable.

Our Role

What We Supply for Laboratories

01
Stable Bench Interconnect
Phase-stable assemblies and precision adapters chosen so the setup is not the largest term in the uncertainty budget.
02
Built to the Bench
Assemblies made to your actual routing, so cables sit where they are meant to and stay there between runs.
03
Accreditation-Ready Data
Per-unit measured performance and lot traceability in the form an accreditation audit expects.
